Window invisible grills that let in light without compromising safety

Windows above ground level carry the same fall risk as balconies but often get overlooked, since they're not a space people actively sit in. A tensioned cable grill closes that gap without the bulk of a traditional window grille.

Window Invisible Grills installation

Window openings on upper floors, especially in bedrooms and utility areas, are frequently left ungrated because a solid iron grille feels heavy and unattractive on a window. Invisible cable grills solve this: mounting brackets fix to the window frame or surrounding wall, and stainless cables run across the opening at the same 2-4 inch spacing used for balconies.

Installation follows a consistent sequence: measure the frame width and height at multiple points to account for any irregularity, mark and fix mounting brackets evenly spaced along the sides, thread cables through the brackets, then tension each one with a turnbuckle until taut without bending the frame.

Once every cable is tensioned, we inspect the full run for loose brackets or sagging cables, then apply hand pressure to confirm the assembly resists force without bending or loosening — the same quality check used on balcony installations.

Because window openings are often smaller than balconies, per-sq.ft pricing is comparable to balcony grills, but the job is usually quicker: most single windows are completed within 1-2 hours.

Yes, mounting brackets can be adapted to wood, aluminium and UPVC frames; we confirm the right bracket type during your free site visit.

Is window cable spacing different from balcony spacing?+

The same 2-4 inch range applies; for children's bedrooms we recommend the tighter 2-inch spacing as standard.

Will it interfere with opening and closing the window?+

No, cables are mounted on the outer frame and don't obstruct the window's normal opening mechanism unless you specifically request an openable panel.

How long does a single window take?+

Typically 1-2 hours per window once brackets are marked and cables are cut to length.
